Security tips

 "http://" and "https://"

Most of the people don't pay attention to the difference between http:// and https:// when they are browsing the Internet, it's, "only", their security. If you know it and you check that out it's not necessary that you keep reading this note.

HTTP means "Hyper Text Transport Protocol", it's an elegant way to define, a language to interchange information between servers and client on the network.

The important, what makes the difference it's the "S" that means "Secure".

If you visit a web page and you check its address, you will see probably, that begins with http://. This means that the page is talking to you (your computer) in a normal language, but not secure. In other words, exists the possibility that somebody can be spying the "conversation" between your computer and the page. If you transfer some information to that page, that somebody can see it and use it.

For this motive, you should never give your credit card number away to a page that begins with http://

But if the address begins with https://, your computer is connected to a page that is "talking" to you in a coded language and secure, spies proof...

For your own security, if you need to buy something online with your credit/debit card or other confidential information, check and make sure that the web page address which you are in begins with https://
